Patients can access a variety of appointments. We have 2 different kind of appointments — On the day appointments and One-week-in-advance appointments.
We also operate a drop in clinic each morning where patients who have an urgent matter that has only presented in the previous 24/48 hours and cannot wait until the next routine appointment becomes available can be seen. In order to be seen during the drop in clinic, patients must present to our reception desk between 9.30 and 10am and cannot be put on the list by telephone. The drop in clinic is for 1 item only and although each of the GPs’ and our Nurse Practitioner who are in that day will see patients on the list, a specific clinician cannot be requested. The clinicians will start to see patients for the drop in clinic from 10am.
Appointments can be arranged over the telephone on 01505 502888 (or) in person by calling into the surgery (or) On-line through Patient access [currently one week in advance].
Telephone consultations are available for patients not requiring face-to-face consultations.
We operate a GP On Call Telephone Call Back system for patients who have been unable to obtain an ‘On the Day’ appointment and require to be seen same day. Please leave your contact details and brief description of problem and receptionist will pass this onto the GP On Call who will contact you as soon as he/she becomes available. Please note when using this service patients are unable to specify doctors of choice.

Doctors can only discuss, one problem per consultation, as they have only 10 minutes for each patient.
Please bear in mind that the doctor may not be able to deal with all your problems in one consultation, particularly if you have built these up over a period of time. The doctor may ask you to return for further consultation(s) if all your problems cannot be dealt with. Repeat medicine requests are best handled by the reception staff as this allows the doctor to have more time to spend with you and helps clinics to run to time.
Wear loose fitting clothing or short sleeves if you think you are going to need your blood pressure taken and be prepared to be examined. We will provide chaperones where appropriate or if you request one.
Longer appointments can be arranged for complex problems or if there are many problems to be discussed. If you feel you may need more time please mention this when booking your appointment. Making a list of the questions you would like to ask is a good way of making sure that you get the most out of the appointment.
You can now check in for your appointment via our New touch screen automated system in reception. This is a computerised system and will avoid queues building up at the reception desk. There will be clear instructions on how to use the system.
